Lauren has been a part of the Academy Prep community for over ten years, serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer, classroom teacher, and guidance counselor. Lauren graduated Suma Cum Laude from Troy University with an MS in Counseling and Psychology and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern. Lauren also serves as an Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Mental health is Lauren's passion, and she takes pride in being a mental health advocate for the welfare of students and their families at Academy Prep. As part of her role as director, Lauen oversees the social-emotional learning curriculum on campus. In 2023, Lauren was recognized by APT's partner organization iMPACTFUL as the March SEL Champion of the Month for highlighting the importance of emotional intelligence (EG) in our youth. Lauren is an active member of the American Counseling Association; The Florida Mental Health Counseling Association, where she serves on several committees; and the Suncoast Mental Health Counseling Association as an RMHCI board member. Outside of work, Lauren is family-focused, enjoying free time with her daughter, husband, and family. Lauren is honored to serve our students as the director of all our counseling and student support services.
